I know, it's unlikely, but I have a Philips desktop dictaphone LH0505 with a crumbling FF-REW gear. It's a dual gear so not easy to replicate. Just wondered...

Before dumping any old printers or CD-Rom drives I strip out and save all the gears. Maybe you could find something similar, even gluing two different sized ones together to replicate the original?

That may well be a solution. As it is, the machine does work after a fashion, and as it's not something I've a particular interest in I may well leave it on the shelf to be got to one day when I get inspiration!

A replacement could possibly be 3D printed, depending on its size (very small or fine parts do not print well).
Do you have or can you give me the dimensions? Also the teeth per inch. ta Phil |
