Prinzsound 8 track & radio
Can anyone explain how to check the belt as the 8 track is not working, radio fine. Thanks Steve

Put a tape in and the track selector number should light up , change track and if nothing happens then its probably thr belt, you should hear the tape running in the cartridge too but ultimately you will need to peek inside, there's is very little inside the machines, here is mine.

Can anyone explain how to open up the player to check the drive belt.

There is every chance that the belt will need replacing. New belts were available on eBay. When I bought some, two belts were supplied as the mechanism can one of two types, not identifiable from the outside.
I have yet to fit the belt but have been led to believe it is a fairly major job requiring a full strip down to allow access to it. Good luck, Peter |
