Default Mullard UK 12 band radio?

I heard that Mullard UK had a tube radio with 12 bands. I did go to http://images.google.com and flickr to search but could not find.

I also hear that Mullard UK and Philips UK had such multi band tube radios.

Any information or links or images of these will help.

Thanks

The only one that comes to mind is the Mullard MAS231 / Philips 681A , http://www.radiomuseum.org/r/mullard_mas_231.html and http://www.radiomuseum.org/r/philips_681a681.html , a large and very well specified table radio with four main bands and eight bandspread ranges, so 12 bands in all: double conversion and push-pull EL33 output. I've not met one myself, but they do turn up now and again, usually in the Philips version.

Those look like export sets to me, though certainly a cut above the usual 'tea planter special'.

I don't think they were specifically export models, though some export sales may have been hoped for. The 681A features in Newnes R+TVS, unlike any export model I can think of, and examples do surface on eBay and at events. The sets also include LW, which radios designed for export tended to leave out. http://70.33.246.110/~radio100/allan1942/681-1.jpg shows a 681A's dial, featuring the usual B.B.C. Third, Light, West etc. markings on MW.

I had this radio for a short time, but sold it, it had 2 x EL33 push pull output.

Similar chassis to this Philips http://www.radiomuseum.org/r/philips_681a681.html

Thanks for the link Paul. I agree it does look like a UK domestic tuning scale.

The Mullard MA407 which I have has and identical chassis to the Philips 681A, it was only the cabinets that varied.

Trevor.

I had a Pye PE80 that was obviously an export model as all the stations printed on the dial were in the Far East. It worked very well, but "'er indoors" was not impressed by it's size so it had to go. The position of the knobs on the sides seems to match the other pix.
This one...

is not in as good condition as mine.
