Tape deck bias tuning device 80's
Not sure if anyone remembers a little device but I'm sure it was advertised in HiFi Choice or News back in the 80's that plugged into the output of your tape deck and was the size of say a packet of B&H cigarettes in a clear case with a few LED's to tune your bias?
As far as i can remember (could be wrong) the device outputs a test tone which then on playback or real time with a 3 head deck samples the results and gives you a reading via the LEDS if you need to + or - I bought one but think I sent it back as it didn't work that well |

I remember auto calibration being built into machines, on some it worked very well, of course if you have the time and equipment you can do it yourself, the only drawback there is you can only set the machine up for one of each tape type.
