Sailor RT144B marine radio
I have one of these in for repair, but don't have the time or expertise in 2 way equipment to carry out the work.
Overall, it looks in pretty good condition inside and out, although the customer hadn't yet tracked down a handset for it. Anyway, before I go back to my customer and reject the job, is there anyone here who would be prepared to take it on? The customer is not in a hurry. Thanks, Adrian. |

What's wrong with it? Anyone contemplating taking on the job would probably like to know.
I'm not offering to do the job as transistors aren't my strong point.

Re: Sailor RT144B marine radio
To be honest I don't know. The customer always wanted one and managed to find this one. He has not powered it up, nor have I. There is an electrolytic that looks like it has seen better days, and the power supply wiring that is externally connected looks dodgy.
I suspect from the good overall condition, that it will need servicing; some capacitors and an alignment check over. |
