Earlier in this interesting thread was a schedule of dates for the earlier BSR Autochangers. As it was not quite accuarate, here is my "best fit" attempt for the period 1953 to 1967:

UA5 1953/1954
UA6 1955
UA6 Mk2 Late 55/early 56 (this had the overarm and tone arm of the UA8)
UA8 Mid 1956-1959 (ran concurrently with UA12 during early 1959)
UA10 1958-1959 (short production run)
UA12 mid 1958/end 1959
UA14 1960/mid 1963
UA15 Mid 1963/65
UA16 Late 1963/1965
UA25 Mid 1964/1966 - maybe to early 1967 (later versions had lighter pressed steel turntable)
NB Upto and including the UA10, there was no automatic retraction of the idler wheel.
If there are BSR watchers more nerdy than me out there, feel free to ammend or update! Edward

The UA 15 had several versions. The original UA 15 turned into the 'UA15 Superslim'.
Then there was the UA 15 SS3B, with a large turntable and tubular arm, and finally the UA 15 SS5G, which featured a lower mass tubular arm with a different head, large turntable with chrome trim, and restyled controls with chrome trim.
All three versions ran concurrently until around 1968.

Bush used this model in the SRP 31D and SRP41. Pictured:
UA16 (taller, allowed 10 or more records to be stacked) -second pic. Was also made in grey and white.
UA15 (original blue) - 5th pic. This was also made in beige/brown.
UA15 (later black version) - 3rd pic

I have three (blue UA15, UA15SS3D, and a UA16 in my SRP31D)
I should maybe get out more!

The UA6 was out in 1953 as it was used in the Regentone MULTI99 mkll,the mk1 had the Monarch Prince, My parents bought a MULTI99 mkll when I was born but unfortunately gave it away when I was 9 when a valve failed. My mother went mad when she found out it only cost 7/6d to get it fixed.

Super pics of these UA15 variants. There was also the very attractive version of the UA25 made for Philips with chrome highlights and a tubular tone arm. Looked far more "the business" than the standard BSR version. Edward

Well, this bridged the BSR C109 4 speed and the later 45/33 speed only versions, and so dates this to about 1971/2 - but sorry I can't be accurate about the model number. This may well have a plastic platter and signal BSR's slide into rather nasty value-engineered models. Edward

Just out of interest, there seems to be some misunderstanding about the identification of the brown BSR changer used in the early Black Boxes. According to the book on BSR products, it was designated the model number UA5. At the time of the books publishing, I checked with an ex-employee of BSR, and he confirmed that it was the UA4, which was superseded by the UA6. There was no UA5.

The autochanger shown in the link above is a very rare brown version of the UA6 - it's usually cream. The earlier UA4 (which I has always believed until today was designated UA5) had different rotary controls and tone arm. Edward

I've been passionate about record players for over fifty years, and have had literally hundreds through my hands, but in all that time I've never seen a brown UA6 before! Thanks Nick

Yes, it is one of those. Must be a better pic somewhere! Re. The brown ua6, I saw one in the flesh about 30 years ago in a Alba radiogram and thought how unusual it was. It was in an auction and I did consider buying it but it was a big lump and had no other particular merits so i resisted. It almost certainly went to the tip.

BSR also made a deck called "Accutrac"? it had a LED laser to enable track selection, and an ultrasonic remote control.

I remember that deck, it was often badged as an ADC. Very hi-tech at the time. It was hard to believe it came from the same place the omnipresent autochangers came from!

Can you guys give any info on this one, year of production, quality etc. Google turned up nada. All I have is the model name "Guardsman". Apparently its a BSR.
