My Satellit was working fine on 28 June….switch it on today and no stations plus the volume was very low from the speaker. The LCD display was a bit erratic for a second before looking normal. An hour later and now it does not switch on.
I was planning to sell it but maybe I can’t till I get it repaired. It is not something I can do myself….any advice / help? ![]() |

I have had a Sat 600 for 35+ years (essentially the same radio) and have had the low volume problem on a cold morning with a fully charged battery. Battery getting old, so not regulating battery voltage when charged.
Of course you are probably running it on mains, so not relevant. There is a transistor controlling the mute circuit, and I seem to recall a resistor had a value change in a technical bulletin. The situation with no tuning and no stations whatsoever has been related to surface contamination on the PCB where the on/off/snooze switch is soldered onto the motherboard. I had a variation on this theme with a second set I bought from a member here maybe 7 years ago. Do a search. I reported on that fault within the last 12 months I think in this section. It MAY have been in the "Modern" section which will not be visible to you until you have made at leat 10 posts. A Moderator may find it and give you access, not sure. I have also written about converting the optional Dryfit Accu to lithium ion, but not appropriate at this stage for you. Les. |

Thank you for the information. I suspect I will need to employ someone to repair this radio as I am not competent with this level of repair.
