Default How to operate a Levell Oscillator?

Hallo, I confess to being a complete electronics beginner and want to use an oscillator to run a frequency pattern or cymatic display device made from a small loudspeaker.

I'm lucky enough to have a Levell TG200DM oscillator, mains powered, but don't know how to use it properly. For instance, the output terminals are labelled "RS 600 ohm" - does this mean an ordinary 8 or 16 ohm speaker would not work or would be damaged?

How do the controls work? There are two for frequency and two for amplitude.

Any help much appreciated as I can't find an instruction booklet anywhere.
Thank you,
Steve

On most sig gens (oscillator) you select frequency by a dial and switched ranges, then have one or two volume controls, they're more than simple volume controls but that's essentially what they are.

What you will need is an amplifier, so oscillator goes into amp, amp powers loud speaker. The oscillator itself might just be able to power a loud speaker, but only just and it won't be happy about it.

You may need to add an audio amplifier after the oscillator and before the modified loudspeaker in order to get enough deflection.
