AIWA L300 - Low output on one channel
Hello!
I am working on restoring this tape deck after I picked it up from the flea market. I got it cleaned, lubed and changed a couple of worn out belts. I am now struggling to fix a noisy output from one channel. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find any kind of reference to this specific model on-line. Is there a chance that a fellow here has the service manual? Or point me to a similar model to use as a reference? Thank you very much in advance!! |

A quick look and I have drawn a blank.

Low output and noisy output aren't the same. Have you inspected the heads? Are they very clean?

I'm sorry, I do not understand what you are saying
Quote:
The left channel was extremely low, compared to the right one. and it was not as crisp as the other channel. The head is clean but I wanted to check if it would require am azimuth adjustment. As I had no previous experience with azimuth misaligment I was not sure if what I was listening was because of that or an other issue. in any case, yesterday afternoon I managed to solve the issue. There was a capacitor that was out of spec, but also I am suspecting that the speaker I was using has problems. So, I'm considering this case closed thanks for the interest! Michalis |
