Ferrograph Series 632 wont engage play - UK Vintage Radio Repair and Restoration Discussion Forum

Hi Guys

I am just having a clear out of some vintage stuff, I have a Series 6 Ferrograph, I purchased it around 10 years ago fully serviced etc, its not been in use for at least 4 years or so when I came to fire it up two of the speed settings won't engage / lock the play fwd and rewind into position, 3.75ips works fine the other two won't make it stop on, is this a simple fix ?

Is the equalisation on the amp set to the correct speed?

It's interlocked as far as I remember.

Completely forgot that if there's a mismatch in EQ it wont work, its working fine.....silly me

The hold-in ( or run solenoid) is held in by the current being drawn through the output stage ( el84) Will machine act as a straight amplifier?
