Default Brimistor C26 Thermistor

Hi,
I wanted to build a GEC 88-50. It used the 5U4G rectifier and so has a thermistor 3000/30 Ohms.
Can anyone suggest a modern alternative or a different rectifier type, maybe indirectly heated that would fit the bill.

John

Wouldn't you be better off with SS rectification? That is unless you have the mains tfmr already. Better than valve rectification, cheaper.

If your set o valve rectification there's a CV something or other that is a 5U4G equivalent, i have one somewhere if you want it, 5U4G's have a cult status CV equivalents in different envelopes don't and are cheaper.

The thermistor will be a CZ6. This may aid your search.

As far as rectifiers go, the GZ37 is probably a fair indirectly heated replacement for the 5U4. You would need to check the detailed operating conditions and pin out. You may also need fairly deep pockets - some people out there obviously like them...
