Default Plessey PR-1551

Several years ago i had fun bringing a PR-155 back to life. A good receiver for all practical purposes Some time ago i got hold of a PR-1551 receiver for a modest price (GBP 50 or so). Seems to have been used a lot, probably by the Forces here in Norway. Some mecanical issues seems to be solved first, stuck scale for one. I have actually not opened the unit, nor powered it up, i like to have the paper-works in order first;-) As i understand it, this receiver may be locked in some way in the kc/s (kHz) VFO-range as well as in the MHz range (as with the -155) As always the problem is the manual, not avaliable. On the big Interweb the manual for the PR-1553 is avaliable. Again, reading the manual, i understand that the -1551 is a -1553 without the display-unit but else more or less the same, so by that defenition it should be possible to interpolate the information from the -1553 to the -1551 ?

http://www.mauritron.com/info/p/plessey.html suggests that service manual CDC-1318 covers the PR1550/1/2/3/4 models.

Good tip! Bought the manual from Mauritron this afternoon.

The differences between the PR-1551 and 1553 is explained on one page with four paragraphs: In principle - disregard all circuitry involving the Nixie-counter/readout. Simple as that.

The manual freely avaliable on internet is the same but not the same source as Mauritron
