I took a lot of stuff to the Bring & Buy, & being a total novice was totally out of my depth.
Thanks to Jeremy & the others for pushing the gear at a sensible price (& finding one I had cheap was worth considerably more) & a total of £462 was taken. I took a round £400 & the rest was the commission & a donation.
I thoroughly enjoyed myself & not once was I spoken down to because of my ignorance.
So I joined up!
Well done to all for a thoroughly interesting day & see you at Leamington Spa.

I really enjoyed this auction, and went home with at least two of the items on my wish list, plus several opportunistic items. Rather more lots than usual.

There was one difficulty, in that I found an item was missing - I actually thought of it while on the motorway as it is distinctive and had not remembered loading it.
Two of us were very thorough and ensured that we took everything the helper piled up for us. The odd error is completely understandable, and i have nothing but appreciation for the time and effort involved, but where do i go from here?
The item is a 'table gramophone', a wind up portable which someone had coated with red sticky backed plastic, lot 198.
I have been unable to contact Mike, who I imagine is extremely busy.

So. many thanks for another great event, would appreciate some help in sorting this out.

I assume you have emailed Mike? I'm sure he will get back to you in a few days and let you know if it is back at the BVWS store.

Don't worry, it will get sorted. He is probably be very busy at the moment, working with Greg on handing over the chairmanship.

That's great Paul, yes, I have emailed Mike, and can imagine how much there is to do. Just wanted to make sure this didn't fall through the gaps. Thanks again for all the effort that goes into these events.

I'm very much temped to rejoin the BWS after looking at the auction results.
I would be more than happy to give some of those pre-war woodies a good home at those giveaway prices.
Whats happened! When I attended the auctions 20 or so years ago I was buying radios at much higher prices than this.

I think the reason is that older collectors are getting rid of their collections as they can no longer cope with them (downsizing) and there are not many younger society members. Most of us have enough radios already (I have about 400), and there's a limit as to what can be taken away in a car on the day. The auction was not well attended.
Mike.
