Default Model Identification (Defiant MSH452)

While at the Radiophile Auction on Sunday I won this unusual Defiant Radio. Having changed the grid decoupling capacitor and restrung it the set works quite well. I wondered if anyone could tell me the model number so that I can try and track down a circuit diagram.

The valve line up is: 6C9, 6F15, 6LD20, 6P25 & UU9

Many Thanks
Trevor.

The MSH551 looks very similar although it uses a metal rectifier rather than a valve.

There are similarities with MSH546 from 1947 but with that valve line up I would have thought a little later, say 1950 to 1954.
There is no listing in the Radiomuseum that I can find.

It is likely to be a Plessey chassis. Try MSH453, its the right valve line up.

A pretty set, it was heavy to lift on the day!

Sam.

MSH452 looks right. It's included in a little 1953-54 sales brochure that's helped me identify a few Defiant sets here.
