Default Mystery French Set

I wonder if anyone recognises this set? Can't see a makers name anywhere and the back is missing. If identified then a circuit would be useful...
Many thanks,
Peter

Purely a guess, Schneider? That tuning scale is very familiar, my Melodie looks the same. Any more pix? Valve line up? Schneider used some very unusual glass cased caps rated at 3kV, do you have any in this chassis?
Sam.

Could have sworn I suggested something like this Antena set yesterday evening.

http://www.doctsf.com/grandlivre/fic...f=10950&ori=ps

Valve line up of linked set is: 6BE6 6BA6 6AV6 6BQ5 6X4

If the link is unacceptable, a comment to that effect would be appreciated when it's deleted.

Any chance of a picture of the chassis, Peter, regards Mick.

Wow, I think Chris has got it.

Very striking design, these French sets!

French manufacturers during this period seemed to concentrate on making the cabinet front as spectacular as possible, while leaving you disappointed when you took the back off as you expect the same wonderment with the chassis.

Hi,
Those side 'cheeks' suggest 'Reela' to me as I have a table radiogram of that make and it has them. Mine also has the same 'foot' as well.
Cheers, Pete.

Thanks for the advice & information folks, I'll have a look at the valve lineup and report back with more pictures.

Yes, I also have a Reela with a very similar mirrored dial glass and perforated speaker grille. But I have to say that loads of small French manufacturers produced very similar-looking sets during this period.

None of the similar style sets I could find had the same combination of only 3 knobs and that flat fronted look with the top sides rounded. They all had top fronts rounded.

I agree that what's inside is nothing special. A 4+R with what looks like the same transformer/voltage selector/fuse link is the most common. Deluxe ones got a magic eye, and top range ones an RF stage and perhaps P-P O/P too. There seemed to be a myriad of small manufacturers after the war pretty much building clones.

Hi,
Mine has the same valve line up as in post #3 plus an EM34.
Cheers, Pete.
