Default Unable to access forum.

Good evening,
Most of today and this evening I have been unable to access any part of the forum. All I get is " v bulletin" "server too busy try again later". This also occurred when I was trying to make a post. I lost what I had typed and up came the same message again. Is there a problem with the new server we have moved to? Is it just me experiencing this?
Regards,
Dave.

I experienced exactly the same thing around 6.30pm this evening, so I guess it was a general ' glitch'.

It's been absolutely ok for me at different points in the day but I wasn't on at 6-30!
Cheers,

It has been giving this v-bulletin busy message and no access several times since at least 3 o'clock this afternoon. Very frustrating!

This is a normal message when the server hosting the forum is too busy to respond properly. The forum has changed server in the last few days so a certain amount of settling down and fine tuning may be going on. Paul Stenning may be able to comment as he administers that side of things.

I haven't seen this message myself (recently).

I have increased the threshold where that happens. It was set to 16 but with 32 CPU cores on the new server system we can have a much higher threshold, so I've set it to 128 (this being 4 x the number of cores which is the same ratio as before). Hopefully we will never see that message again!

Paul,
Thank you for the update, we can expect some glitches on a new system, only so much testing can be done before going live. I thought the problem would be being flagged up and it was just finding the problem and then changing things at a suitable time.
Appreciate your time and effort.

If anyone got an occasional database error message early afternoon it would have been due to some other large hosting accounts being moved onto the server. Restoring the large database backups can cause heavy database loading for a few seconds.
