Question More identification please

Good morning. Please could one of you cleaver people help with these 2 resistor identifications. The cream coloured one on end of board marked 330 MX reads 2.6 K ohms when tested but don't know what is should be-what the 330 MX means? and the cream coloured one in the middle of the board with yellow, purple, red, black markings. Yellow being a larger dash, but there is no reading at all when tested so not sure which way we should read the marking to see what the value is.

Both of those components are tubular ceramic capacitors, normally very reliable parts. Is the one marked 330MX in parallel with the 2.2k resistor next to it? That could explain the reading of 2.6k if the composition resistor has drifted a tad high (not unusual). It's likely that it's a 330pF type and the other one 4.7nF but someone more conversant with capacitor codes will be along soon!

I understand these components are in a Bel Ami S100 jukebox?

Have you tried reconciling the component values with the circuit diagram?

Good morning Graham, yes they are from the Bal-Ami, same as the Junior S100. We have some info for the Junior S100 which has been a great help but we don't have the circuit diagram-that would make life easier!!, Allyson,x

I don't think changing a few low value capacitors, which probably aren't faulty anyway, is going to fix whatever problems you have with the amplifier. You may just introduce new faults.

Proper fault finding ie taking voltage readings etc. is the way to go.

I would check that resistor between the ceramic capacitor and the modern yellow capacitor in the first photo.

It appears to have been overheated at some time. The coloured bands are not as bright as they should be.

Measure its resistance now that it is out of circuit.

If you measure the voltage across it when it is in use, you can then calculate the power it has to dissipate.
