Default Analogue movement repairs

Does anybody know of someone in the UK who repairs analogue meter movements ?

I have two very large moving iron meters from around 1920 (?) made by Crompton Parkinson which I would like to get repaired.

Serial No.s 579699 and 570106

regards, seemos

Try The Herts Meter Company 01707 270404. They repaired the meter from an AVO Valve Tester for me.

Apparently they have a retired employee who comes in one day a week to do this sort of work.

Graham.

Reach for your meter before you reach for your soldering iron.

This reminds me of the time that I bought a bakelite megger at a car boot some years ago. It was difficult to test at the time, so I took a chance on it. Initially I found that the generator windings were open circuit. After three days and a few miles of very fine wire , I had successfully rewound the armature. On test, it still did not work because the opposing winding on the meter movement was found to be open circuit , all that it did was to pin over to max.
It still does not work, but it looks nice on the shelf .
