Default 1967 Continental Edison S191

Posting this on behalf of a friend who drives a 1966 Citroen DS21 which came with a 1967 Continental Edison S191 (Con Ed). A perfect match in that it is the right vintage, has the authentic dashboard fitment so looks the part and as an ex-French diplomatic car!

https://www.radiomuseum.org/r/conti_...ds19_s191.html

But it has a retrofit FM module which is over-sensitive to tuning, and either that or the speaker, or maybe both, sound like

My friend feels he has three choices:-
  1. Gut the Con Ed and install modern innards, but leave the fascia period-correct.

  2. Replace the Con Ed with a contemporary Becker Monza or Europa (period correct, but German and inappropriate for a diplomatic car)

  3. Leave the Con Ed alone for the visuals and install in addition a semi-hidden, but removable when required, Blaupunkt Paris from 1999 - complete with anachronistic digital display but also modern niceties such as RDS.
Speakers can be hidden under the dashboard, so are not the constraint.

Any feedback would be welcomed - thanks in advance

Option 4. Fit a bluetooth adaptor and use the amplifier/volume control of the radio to maintain some authenticity.

As a starting point does anyone know where to find the Service Manual for the Continental Edison S191?

Using Google translate and my limited French I am struggling to understand the Conditions of access and the Loan conditions - looks like I have to be a Member first??

Just click on the union flag at top right of the page and everything will appear in English.
