Default TV meetup in Solihull and collection of bits-and-bobs.

Hi everyone.

There are a few forum members coming round to my house in Solihull on Saturday the 6th of November to pick up TV-related bits-and-bobs etc. but if anyone else wanted to come round and make it into a bit of a meetup and bring some rubbish to swap with other people's rubbish then everyone is welcome. It might be useful as a place for the Forum Courier Service to hand over stuff.

There are plenty of pubs around for lunch etc. and Tea / Coffee / Biscuits etc. will be provided.

Anyway, if you fancy it then let me know with a post here and I'll PM you the details.

Thanks everyone.

Kind regards.

From Mike.

I'd love to come along but I'm otherwise occupied in central Birmingham until around 4pm, so by the time I got to Solihull chances are everyone else will have left!

I shouldn't worry about that Paul - there have usually been people still here way beyond 17:00 when we've had these things in the past so you are very welcome to drop by.

Thanks all.

Kind regards.

From Mike.

Hi Mike.
I wish I could come, unfortunately it's a little too far and with the darks nights coming in would make it a tedious drive.
I certainly would come if you did it again perhaps earlier in the year.
Have a successful meet up, I am sure it will be, ours up here have been great.

Hi Mike,

Yes please. I had intended to go to Harpenden yesterday, but problems with my younger daughters car (the immobiliser) required urgent attention, as she needs it for her job as a Belly Dance teacher - I think the problem is solved .

What time do "doors open"?

Best Wishes

ALAN

Hey Mike,

Have you got a nice dusty old Pye hybrid that hasn't been plugged in for years?

I'd love to see Jon cowering behind your kitchen door again

Cheers

What about the scary Ekco CT122 with the EHT escaping all over the place?

I take it Jon is a bit of a woos? Perhaps HKS should go and plug them all in!

Hi Trevor, Alan, Jon, Lee and Tas.

Alan and Jon - Yes, please do come along - You will be very welcome.

Tas and Lee - Well, I have the virgin Pye CT70 upstairs which is still full of dust and cobwebs and dead spiders which we could have a go at resurrecting or indeed the Ekco with its "space ship about to blow up" EHT noises, but that one isn't quite as interesting. Or the D/S G6 which I was going to leave for Tas and Lee to fix for me (they being much cleverer and braver than me) but that looks a bit TOO scarey for the rest of us wendy-woos. (Well, too scarey for me anyway.)

Trevor - That's a shame you can't make it but if you change your mind then you will still be very welcome.

Yes I will also make a trip to Solihull. Is Sutton Coldfield still transmitting 405 or has it gone over to colour at last? I'll bring my crocodile clips with a 5amp 2 pin plug on the end. I don't want to see any lamp limiters/ballasts/ variacs or woos pieces of test equipment. Looks like it could be fun! Regards, John.

Hello Mike,

I very much enjoyed my last visit and would like to come this time, but unfortunately other committments prevent it.

I hope you all enjoy the day, regards to anyone who knows me.

That's excellent that you can make it John. Sorry you can't get here Dave, but feel free to just turn up if you change your mind on the day.

I'll send out PMs with details this evening.

Great, thanks. Perhaps we can swap mobile numbers by PM then I can text you when I'm on my way and you can let me know if everyone has left early.
