Default Weltron 2005

Hi there collective wisdom, I've just acquired a Weltron 2005 ('Setron' badged), it's a beautiful thing and I don't expect I'll part with it for a long long time. It's in great condition and everything works well except NO lights work. I have just replaced the (12v?) side lights - the bulbs either side of the record player - I chucked LED's in there (apparently you should use resistors but they haven't blown so far) and they're good. The remaining lights (6 volt?) of which there are many, are my concern. I tested the wires as best I could and tried replacing a bulb but I don't think there's any current, and the bulbs LOOK fine. Bear in mind I'm fairly incompetent with electronics (but trying). Is there another fuse hidden somewhere? There's one at the back of the unit that I'm guessing is for the side lights etc. - I'm going to pull everything out of the stereo sometime soon so I can de-yellow the case, maybe I'll discover something more when I do that. Thanks
