Default Help with beolit 700 selector string broken

Hello,
I am trying to fix the small string that connects the knob to the tuner of a newly found beolit 700.
I am unable to figure out the directions of the wire. I can get it to move and rotate in one direction, but not in the other. Obviouly my vision in space is failing !
Help will be much appreciated.

Before attempting to restring the set please make sure the Tuning Capacitor is free to turn.. A lot of capacitors of this age seize up due to old hard grease.
