Happy 15th Birthday UKVRRR!
This forum is officially 15 years old today. I joined as the first member when I set it up on 20th December 2002.
These are the five oldest threads I can find in the database. Some interesting discussions from the start. The forum started on a different system and was converted to vBulletin later, so the earliest existing threads do not have the lowest thread IDs. https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/...read.php?t=404 https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/...read.php?t=400 https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/...read.php?t=679 https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/...read.php?t=688 https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/...read.php?t=687 Thank you to everyone for your contributions over the last 15 years, and to the current and previous moderators for helping to keep things running smoothly. |

Re: Happy 15th Birthday UKVRRR!
I can only echo Colin's comments, having been a forum member for about half the time it has exsisted. It's a very good resource to which I hope I have been able, over the years, to have contibuted useful information, and certainly received much help from other members over the years. Other parts of the site, in particular the Vintage Radio Service Data section, have also been a great help to me. Many thanks Paul, and the Moderating team.

Re: Happy 15th Birthday UKVRRR!
I joined in 2003 looking for a replacement tuning scale for a Philips radio. I can't remember the details now, but somebody sent me the part from a scrap set FOC, so forum members have always been a generous and helpful lot.

Re: Happy 15th Birthday UKVRRR!
Pleased to have been a member since 16 Feb 2003.
I didn't featured in any of those early threads, so I guess I must have been a 'lurker' rather than a 'poster' back then! Good to see that several of those early posters are still active members of the forum. Many thanks to Paul for creating the forum, and the rest of the admin team for helping to 'keep the show on the road'. I don't think it's ever skipped a beat, apart from occasional planned maintenance.

Re: Happy 15th Birthday UKVRRR!
I am pleased to have been a member since May 2007 and appreciate the efforts of Paul and his moderators to make this forum the high standard that it is.
I originally joined as I was interested in 625/405 line standards converters and successfully built the Darius converter featured here back in 2006/7. The wide range of knowledge displayed by various members' is inspiring and has helped on many occasions when fault finding a difficult set. It's been a pleasure taking part, happy 15th birthday from me too and long may this forum continue. Symon. Last edited by Philips210; 20th Dec 2017 at 4:54 pm. Reason: omission |

2004 here. I can't remember what it was like way back then, but nowadays it continues to be a place of common sense and sanity. Many thanks to Paul and the moderating team for keeping the high standards.

Re: Happy 15th Birthday UKVRRR!
Hi,
Discovering the Forum a couple of years ago and then joining 6 months later, rekindled my desire to play with old TV's again! Strangely, the early days of the forum coincided with the height of my activities but I didn't know about it It really is a fantastic community of friendly, helpful folk with a huge diversity of backgrounds which makes for interesting discussion. I have very much enjoyed being part of it, so, many thanks to Paul for providing such a great resource, and to the rest of the team for ensuring that it remains the civilised, intelligent place that it is! And finally: Happy Birthday UKVRRR !(should be the UKVR&TVRR Forum really!!) All the best Nick |
