Re: Bush DAC90A - Adding Bluetooth
I think BT has always been backward compatible.

Re: Bush DAC90A - Adding Bluetooth
And so the saga continues...
Just fitted another Bluetooth PCB with the KRC-86B module into a friend's DAC10 and have a couple of new problems. When Bluetooth is turned off with no paired devices the audio from the radio is very faint and slightly distorted? When Bluetooth is turned on and paired with my iPhone the audio is slightly distorted and sibilant?? Not sure where to go looking for a resolution ...

Re: Bush DAC90A - Adding Bluetooth
Provided the radio itself is in good working order, check the audio ground connection from the krc-86b to the radio.
It could also be possible that you have a faulty krc-86b or damaged something when the resistors were removed. Gabriel |

Re: Bush DAC90A - Adding Bluetooth
I jumped too soon ...
This was just a temporary lash-up to check that all was well with the Bluetooth PCB so I went back over all my connections. And of course it was a dodgy connection from the KRC-86B audio ground to the co-axial screen at the top of the volume control! All nicely cleaned up with some flux and Bluetooth is alive and well on my friends DAC10 - he will be pleased.

Re: Bush DAC90A - Adding Bluetooth
Thanks Gabe
Two things I like:- 1. When the KRC-86B pairs with the iPhone all the usual background noise and hash disappears - its almost silent! 2. It would be a 5 minute job to open up the case and disconnect the Bluetooth board and leave the radio in its original, but restored, condition! My friend has just stopped by to pick up this DAC10 which I reluctantly packaged up for him to take away. Oh well, its back to my DAC90A which still hums despite my best efforts! All the standard Mods have been implemented along with swapping over a UL41 from a set that doesn't hum!!! I may start a new Thread on why this particular DAC90A is 'a real hummer' but this may be trying the patience of Forum members?
