Of the two, the Sony was far nicer to use and had a superb performance for a 'domestic' deck - as Ted rightly says. The Sony is also better built.

For me it was toss up of getting a new Ferrograph Srs 7, Akai 4000 or TC377 (this was circa 1972) - I went for the Sony (my first Barclaycard mega-debt)!! Years later I got a Series 7 and 4000... I'm glad I went for the Sony! I still have the Srs 7 but these days I stick to Revoxes and Brenells....
