Tandberg model 62 (half track) tape recorder - UK Vintage Radio Repair and Restoration Discussion Forum

Hi All,

I was given a Tandberg model 62 (half tack) valve reel to reel tape recorder a while ago, which looks to be pretty good shape.

Before I get it on the bench, I’m asking is it any good and worth looking at and restoring?

Thankfully I have the pukka service manual, and looking at the circuit and specification it does come over as quite competent machine.

These are very good indeed, BUT, need the capacitors replacing on the amplifiers as a matter of course - see a recent thread re this. After that the performance is superb...
