SECAM sub-PCB on my Sanyo VTC 5000?!
Hi guys. Today I opened up my VTC 5000 Betacord to clean the dust off the circuit boards and adjust some servos using the service manual. When I unscrewed the bottom (VD-1) board, I noticed something really surprizing. As you can see from the pics, someone replaced the whole VD-1 board assembly with the one of a VTC 5550 or modded the machine and added the SECAM sub-board of that model. I took a look on my VTC 5000-5010-5100 schematics and I couldn't find any clue on that little SECAM PCB. The sub-board in question is called VD-1-1 and it has a A838B transistor which not connected anywhere and it's stuck on the plastic chassis with sticky tape and another wire which seems to connect to the tuner board! It also has three jumper wires going to the main VD-1 board. Does anybody have an idea on what happened to my machine?
Thanks in advance Fivos |
