Wow!! I haven't seen one of those for years. I used to have the exact same one as my bedroom heater when I was a kid- I suspect it came from my Grandad who had an electrical shop and kept us supplied with fan heaters.
In fact, I'm sitting in front of a 'Magicook (MAL) type 134 fan heater which dates from the '60s and was his greenhouse fan heater.
I painted my Win - o - Sum with brown aerosol for some reason!!
I do love vintage fan heaters: they are so much better than modern ones.
Thanks for posting that,
All the best
Nick

Love it! Looks well made - far better than all these plastic moderns.

I had one in the mid to late 60s in my shack which was a 4 berth caravan. My dad worked in refrigeration and it was retrieved from a pub beer cellar. Mine was a bronze hammer finish.

Looks like it was made from a surplus headlamp shell of 1930s design!

Very interesting observation.

I have seen radios fitted into surplus clock cases but that's a new one for me.

Well the Win-O-Sum is having to go in the current 'Third Great Purge'...the First was around the year 2000 when the radios went (didn't even photograph some of them ! :-( )

If you want to get rid of it, please offer it on the forum. Whatever you do, don't take it to the tip!!

It's always possible they bought the press tooling from the previous manufacturer.

It reminds me of a motorbike headlamp of around that time. I wonder if they bought up a load of unused stock from a manufacturer?

Don't worry , it won't be skipped. I tried searching for Win-O-Sum in the British Newspaper Archive (free in our public library) which sometimes turns up ancient adverts with graphics or newspaper references to products but nothing showed up

Yes, I see what you mean, it made me think of a Strand Electric Patt. 123 theatre lantern.
