Vintage radio & electronics Fairs
Hi all,
I appologise moderators if I have posted in the wron section, I would like to get a list of vintage radio and electronic fairs, the trouble is I don't know how to get hold of them. I know they happen all round the country, but I live in Bournemouth so really it limits me to fairs in the south. If anybody could post me a list of fairs that are held annually then that would be fantastic. Cheers Lee

Re: Vintage radio & electronics Fairs
Hi Lee, There is a listing on the BVWS site:-
http://www.bvws.org.uk/events/diary.htm Most events are up in the frozen north or west, My nearest is the Tonbridge Audiojumble, A fair trek from Bournemouth though! . Regards, Mick. |

Re: Vintage radio & electronics Fairs
There are no events at all up here in Scotland for vintage radio enthusiasts !
The closest thing is the Magnum Radio & Computer Rally in Irvine but this is really for radio amateurs. I sometimes feel a bit envious at the choice of events you guys have down south..... Andy

Re: Vintage radio & electronics Fairs
Steve, methinks some of your listing is slightly historical. AFAIK, the 2 northern events no longer happen. But then what should I know, as a mere southerner.

Certainly, the VVTF (based at Haydock Park) last happened in 2003 - the first time I attended it!

Re: Vintage radio & electronics Fairs
The Newhaven Fort Amateur Radio Rally may be of interest Lee although it seems to have moved from the June spot to Sunday 2nd September this year. No need to go North just head towards the rising sun! It seems to be run by Worthing ARC but it's not on their site at present. The Fort is probaly worth a day out in itself even if the town isn't. You might think from my locations that I am well placed for everything but it seldom works out like that-especially as I am a bit phobic about driving. Dave

Lee et al
Try Googling computer rallies. The results include all sorts - railway, steam,etc- and radio. In particular, www.users.zetnet.co.uk/kama/misc and go about halfway down the page. Joe |

Re: Vintage radio & electronics Fairs
Hi everyone,
Many thanks for all your replies! That gives me a few to think about attending (I can hear the missus grumbling now!) Looks like I will have a fair drive to get to any of them though! Cheers Lee

It is vintage radio events though. We don't cover computer fairs, amateur radio rallies, antiques fairs and other events not directly related to what the BVWS is about. Obviously any additions or corrections are welcomed. |

Thanks Paul and others; I'll go through this when I get a mo and extract the relevant ones.
