Default Sony WM-D6C speed issues

Hi,

I have the above Walkman which was working fine until a customer fried the servo I.C by getting the polarity of the mains cable wrong. The I.C was a Sony cx20084 which has now been replaced like for like.

I now have a problem with the thing playing slowly.

Has anyone much experience with these units?

Many thanks.

I suspect he means the DC cable from a mains adapter.

Hi
Check q601 motor driver transistor and that all the thin wires are still connected to the PC ,they tend to fall off very easily
Pin 1 of the chip connects to the speed sensor via one of these thin wires
There are some tants which don't like reverse polarity
Did you use anti static precautions when changing the chip ?
Check tracks from the chip ,they are very thin !
Circuit is available free on line

This may be silly but have you checked the manual speed tune switch at rear is in the auto position?
