Beethoven radiogram mystery label.
Hi,
Having been born and brought up alongside this (now rather shabby, like me!) Beethoven table radiogram, I eventually inherited it and it now resides with us in France. My father bought it in around 1953, and it still works reasonably well for its age. I think it has a generic Plessey chassis with 'H' type B7G valves (100mA heaters). Today I was giving it a bit of treatment for woodworm when I spotted, for the first time, this label stuck under the motor board. It appears to be German, or possibly Polish, but I'm not sure. It says:' A.AHLSTROM OSAKEYHTIO . WARKHAUS. In the centre is a 'shield' shaped badge with 'B/BB' under it. I presume they were a firm of cabinet makers. Any other members seen a label like this one? Hm, curious. Thanks in advance. Cheers, Pete.

Re: Beethoven radiogram mystery label.
I've no idea what their involvement is in this case but Ahlström was an industrial and commercial giant in Finland, with paper mills and factory located at what is now Varkaus, previously spelled Warkaus, in Eastern Finland. Now part of Ahlstrom-Munksjö Oyj. Osakeyhtiö = Oy = Limited. B/BB I am not sure about, it's redolent of the British Commercial Monomark designations but probably something quite different.

Re: Beethoven radiogram mystery label.
ISTR a lot of plywood comes from Finland. Maybe the motor boards were ordered in as locally machined parts?

Re: Beethoven radiogram mystery label.
I have a similar set to yours, Pete. My one doesn't have a sticker. I suppose it could have fallen off some time over the last 65 years though.
