Gaseous A77
Broke out the dusty Revox a few days back as my son was interested to hear some early recordings. Left it running over dinner and came back to a delightful smell of electrical burning.
It turned out to be a 4.7 ohm resistor vapourised by a shorted RIFA cap (one of the anti-click relay circuits). A new 0.47 mf and all well again. Just realised that the old dear is now 41 years old! And yes, I changed the other RIFA's while at it plus some working but oozing, electros. |

Re: Gaseous A77
Don't forget the motor start/run capacitors they won't be at their best by now.
