Re: RSC SUPER-THIRTY any info?
Hi Jay, I've found the attached ad from Practical Wireless Nov 1968, seems to have been available as a kit or ready built, Would have cost a months wages for me then, . Not sure if RSC still exist though.... .

Re: RSC SUPER-THIRTY any info?
Hi Jay, I remember the ads from this company, they go back well into the valve era. Not the most Hi-Fi of designs, it will probably use 2N3055's as the output devices. It might just be Ge types (I may have some spares).
The circuitry will be quite simple. Ed |

Re: RSC SUPER-THIRTY any info?
According to the ad from PW, the mono version used NKT series transistors. I remember RSC opening up a shop in Coventry in the mid 70's, when the disco boom kicked in. I think it closed down about 15 years ago. Similar to another company called RCS - Radio Componet Specialists. I'm note sure that they still exist either.
Anyway, hope you have fun with it when it arrives. All the best. Aub |

Re: RSC SUPER-THIRTY any info?
Hi all,
Sorry it's been a couple of days (work's a little hectic at the mo) anyhow i've now received the amp, it needed very little work to get going, well actually it only needed a new power cable and a shot of contact cleaner got rid of the crackle on the controls. I think it's definately a kit although the the quality and neatness of construction is first rate, the cabinet is another matter being of screwed together ply and very amateurish (or was this produced in a chassis only version for you to construct your own cabinet? Anyhow I have some planks of 3/4 inch mahogany in the garage so hopefully i should be able to produce something a little better . All the transistors used in this amp are Mullard-branded; we have OA5's OC81's and OC75's the output trannies are a pair of AD149's and they perform very well (much better than I was expecting) in fact I got a shock at the sound quality with virtually no distortion even with the volume right up. It's so good in fact it's replaced the 80's Japanese amp I was using with my computer. All in all not bad for the £11 I paid for it Thanks all for the info.
