Default HMV Record deck 45000

Good morning
Please can anyone help
I'm having a problem with my HMV 45000 record deck
The Idler wheel is giving problems,
Someone has tried buffing and cleaning it but has made it worse because the
deteriorated rubber surface is uneven and losing its thickness so it's struggling to engage with the platter
Does anyone have a spare idler wheel for one of these decks they can let me have
Alternatively can anyone suggest a suitable repair for the old one
Thanks very much
Sharon

45000 may be the model of the whole record player, but it is not the number for a record deck, which is what we need. It will be a Garrard or a BSR. Can you please send a picture of the deck?

My apologies Sharon, for assuming that the record deck would be a more modern version.
I wasn't aware of this particular deck, never having seen one!

Hi Barry
Ok no problems
Up to recently the deck was working perfectly it's only during the last couple of months the idler wheel has shown signs of wear

Do yourself a favour and get the idler rebuilt by Terrys Rubber Rollers

Hi Michael
Luckily I managed to clean up and repair the old idler wheel and tighten the tension spring
The rubber was still quite supple
I managed to grease the motor bearings and lubricate the mechanism
Some of the levers needed realigning
Everything works fine now
