Default Diode Identification RS 51A

I like to find out about components that are hard to identify.

Got an axial metal case rectifier diode marked RS 51A possibly an old generic diode by Radiospares used as a low power mains rectifier diode, case like a DO 1 style.

Anyone got any specs?

Thanks from David

Hello David
The only information I can find is in the old RS component applications data from 1971, and it lists a REC51A in the table on Silicon Rectifiers.
Please see attached PDF file.
I hope this information is of some use. If I remember correctly these devices did look like a BY100, with the cathode connected to the end with the flange and the case.
Regards Stan.

These came in plastic cases and I think I still have one or two from the 60,s.

Thank you all that is very helpful, needed to check its specifications to know if it was suitable enough for what I am working on.

Thank you again from David
