That is a shame, I have found a cheap valve replacement then I will go from there, I’d like to use it as original if I can the case is in great condition even the speaker grille is clean and tear free.

The Manufacturer's service data is here:
https://www.service-data.com/product...74/5548/m14274 It's 26 pages. At the top it says it for the Mk I and Mk II but at the end of the document is provisional information for the Mk III (confirming the speaker is the energised type). I suggest as a first step resistance checks (power off of course) for the field coil which should be about 1140 ohms and the output transformer primary which should be about 450 ohms. These can both fail open circuit due to faulty capacitors so if they measure ok now you will need to take steps to ensure they stay that way but one step at a time. |

Done nothing more than put an Amazon echo dot in the case and the effect is great even as a novelty factor for now. Two minds whether to pursue originality or commit the crime of stripping out and fitting out as Alexa with some warm white LEDs

I’ve bitten the bullet tonight and stripped out the valves a speaker retained the main chassis for weight, it’s going to have a smart speaker adaptation.
I would like to use the lamps for the wavebands as lighting any options in how I could achieve this? |
