New thread or tag on to an old one?
In general as questions arise related to the same project / equipment but a different area of interest should the new question be asked in the same thread or a new one started?
For example, I open a threaad about mains transformer for a radio that gets ansered. Later another question for the same set arises regarding the volume control. What is the done thing here? |

Re: new thread or tag on old one
Probably one for a definitive answer from the moderators, but my feeling is that if it's the same project and the later query still comes within the forum section and title of the thread, it's probably best to keep it all together.
What's not so good is when someone tacks an unrelated question onto someone else's thread - even if the subject matter is similar - or the subsequent query is not appropriate for the forum section or the thread title.

Re: new thread or tag on old one
Dave has it right. Just use common sense. A completely different discussion should go in a new thread. The mods will merge or split threads if necessary.
