Thank you . I have met JAK twice and enjoyed the experience. R4 programmes are likely to go deeper than the 'science 'lite' BBC TV content I have viewed. There seems to be a deep fear of any sort of 'difficult ' material , such is the pressure on programme makers to produce content watched and downloaded by the massss. Let's see !

I think this may be a repeat, but if it is and it's the series I've seen it is well worth watching again!

Yes it's been on a few times but is well worth repeated viewings as Andy says! Very many BBC4 programs are. I agree about JAK on Radio 4 Al. Today's Life Scientific [on Food Science] was typical. Things we maybe already knew but with interesting and specific detail.
I hope you are not still "broadcasting" from a hospital bed

It is indeed a good series I saw it ages ago, time to get out the instruction manual of my set top box (that I have only used for radio so far) to record it. And then watch as a three hour delight when SHMBO is away on holiday. None of the 12 second attention span for me.

I think that JAK is very much my preferred presenter for this kind of stuff. I find Brian Cox annoying, though he was pretty good in the Bourne movies.

Well I enjoyed it, not so much for new info, but well presented on a timeline, I'm looking forward to the next one.

I watched that programme and found it fascinating. There were quite a few things in it that I didn't know.

My sentiments entirely. O.K., it's a personal thing, I do realise, but I find that JAK talks to his audience as 'participators', whereas BC comes over as somewhat patronising and that he's doing you a favour by explaining things.

I watched 'Shock and Awe', although I've seen the series before. Still found it very interesting, despite remembering most of what JAK descibed from previous viewings.

Wow! I thought that I was alone in finding Brian Cox irritating - and I do mean the smug-looking one with the title "Professor", not the perfectly good and acceptable actor.

Yes, I have seen it before but have forgotten a lot of it so I eagerly await next weeks instalment, in fact I don't remember seeing the first instalment last time.

iPlayer link

Available for 28 days from yesterday.

I enjoyed watching the programme for (at least) the second time and have to agree with the other comments regarding the relative merits of BBC science presenters.
