Default Sony HCD-ZX50MD help

I have a Sony HCD-ZX50MD in for repair. According to the service manual, this uses a TCM-230AWR12 cassette deck, but the deck in mine looks nothing like this one.

Obviously, they have changed the cassette deck at some time during production, but how do I find out what it is. Does some kind soul out there have anything from Sony identifying these units?

Many thanks.

Default Re: Sony HCD-ZX50MD help

Kevin,

I have two releases of the service-manual for HCD-ZX50MD:
Ver1.1 2001-03 and Ver1.2 2001-12
Both manuals list TCM-230AWR12 as the tape deck.
Even though I don't imagine it'll do you much good you're welcome to both manuals; they're in pdf-format.
PM me with your e-mail address if interested.

rgds,
