Default Polyskop II

Hi
I have recently acquired one of these that I would like to get working.
I'm having difficulty getting anything out of the lowest frequency range at the moment. I understand this is obtained by mixing a 220MHz signal with the 200-300 MHz range oscillator.
I have an English service manual but my test gear, scope and frequency counter are limited to about 50MHz.
If anyone has done any work on these I would appreciate any advice.
