Amazing Cigarette Radio, advert in Practical Wireless
I am trying to find the circuit of the Amazing Cigarette radio which I built in 1965. The advert is in the mentioned PW..has any body got the details? It worked very well and I would like to rebuild it
Thanks, Dave |

Re: Amazing Cigarette Radio, advert in Practical Wireless
Hi Dave, I guess it is the attached PW advert. I had to laugh about "a young boy can assemble it in under 2 hours " , imagine saying that today! You would be accused most heavily for encouraging the kids to smoke, how things have changed. Sorry I cannot help with the circuit details but I also would be very interested to see the design.

Re: Amazing Cigarette Radio, advert in Practical Wireless
I note that the advert has both decimal and pre-decimal prices, so must be dated around 1968-71, as decimalisation took place in 1971, with the first decimal coins issued in 1968.

Yes, there is an ad from then...the PW of 1965 has it for 18/6d! I have a 2 transistor circuit from the 1965 copy, with a preset reaction trimmer but as far as I recall, it didn't have reaction so it must have been TRF.
