Wootton Bassett 2nd December
Less than 2 weeks before this event. Time for folks to jot down what they're bringing and collecting.
BRINGING Tatty Ekco U243/1 for (I think) G4SPZ Tatty HMV1910 for (I think) Neil29 Regentone Radiogram with RC70A changer. Jarl Ayari may want the changer. Otherwise I'm trying quite hard not to take it home COLLECTING Nothing so far! |

Re: Wootton Bassett 2nd December
I have just uploaded photos of some (but not all) of the auction lots plus the auction catalogue as of today (260 lots) on the BVWS website here http://www.bvws.org.uk/auctions/woot...2007/index.htm.
The star item is an original Marconi Coherer dating from between 1895 and 1905. As noted on the page, commission bids (from BVWS members only) will be accepted at the discretion of the auctioneer. Contact Mike Barker to arrange this. |

Re: Wootton Bassett 2nd December
Hi All,
Just to make sure everyone has the full details about the Wootton Bassett event on Sunday, here they are: The BVWS Swapmeet this coming Sunday 2nd December will be held at: The Memorial Hall Station Road Wootton Bassett Nr. Swindon SN4 7EE Nearest Motorway junction is M4 Junction 16 Doors open for stall holders at 10:00 to load their tables. Doors open for all visitors at 10:30 Entry fee is £3.00 per person and the usual festive warm Mince pies will be on the door! There will be a large auction starting at 12:30 with viewing beforehand. There are currently 27 stalls booked, so what with the Bring & Buy tables in the annex, we are full. The usual array of hot food and home made cakes etc. will be on offer by my Mother in the Kitchen. I look forward to seeing everyone there on Sunday, Mike...

Re: Wootton Bassett 2nd December
This will be the first one I've missed for quite a while - I have to go to a family gathering in the emerald isle for a few days (wifes' side!)
Have a good time everyone - hope you find what you want! Cheers Andy |

Re: Wootton Bassett 2nd December
I know how you feel Andy. I had to miss the last one due to our house move. I will definitely be there on Sunday though, probably helping with the auction.
I don't think I have anything to bring with me. Steve_P has left some video tapes with Mike for me, I believe. |

Re: Wootton Bassett 2nd December
To whom did I promise that tatty Ekco U243? I thought it was G4SPZ but I was obviously wrong. Can somebody put their hand up? Please
If nobody claims it it'll come to WB anyway and put on the B&B with a request for a small donation to the Museum. |

Paul, if you were still willing to bring the set back to Hereford I can make arrangements to collect it from you, reimburse any expenses, and make a donation to the Museum of course. I am most grateful to you for your help. Thanks again all, Phil

Organise the donation to the museum directly with Jeffrey (probably just post a cheque straight to them). |

Jon's place is about 30 miles from my home, but Hereford is closer to my work in Worcester, hence more convenient for an early evening collection if that's still OK with you Paul. Thanks again, Phil

Re: Wootton Bassett 2nd December
They are rare. The Bakelite one costs more, though. The GEC sets like this are a good example of a set that is better than a TV22 but was not worth as much!
That one looks a bit rough though. But muck cleans off. As long as the tube is OK (I am sure it is) then it will make a good set. Cheers, Steve P.

Re: Wootton Bassett 2nd December
Seeing mention of the B&B, is any help required with it?
I have some items for the B&B, and am willing to assist with it. I am hoping to pick up some Philips VCRs for repairman1234 if they get there, likewise some Betamax VCRs for TimS and myself.

Re: Wootton Bassett 2nd December
I think the WB B&B is usually fairly well manned with three people looking after it in rotation. However you could ask if they would like to take a break for a while.
