Default Teac A-3340S overhaul inc new electronics

I wondered if it is feasible to replace/upgrade the signal path electronics in the A-3340S? It needs an overhaul anyway (capstan solenoid not firing properly, track 3 doesn't play properly) but it is also rather noisy, electronically. I was wondering if there is any mileage in 'updating' the circuitry, externally if necessary. I can lose the mic inputs but the internal hiss and hum might benefit from a different approach. Any clues as to who might help in the UK?

Thanks

Dominic

You could try Geoff Kremer at "Servicesound", Just enter the name in the search bar on google UK or similar. Not too far from Hampshire.
. Specialises in reel recorders. I know him but have no connection with him. But he may be able to help .
Hope that helps.
