Default Krechlok KG Golm Stereogram Cocktail cabinet WK37

Hi everyone

I have a Krechlok KG Golm Stereogram Cocktail cabinet WK37 for sale. It has a lovely little cocktail/drinks cabinet and has been looked after.

The unit partially works (ie it turns on and can hear static) but due to the tuning knob not rotating the tuning needle, it is hard to confirm. The turntable requires a new pin but otherwise works. For those with the right skills this could be an easy fix.

The unit has some minor cosmetic damage (it is over 40 years old!) - see pictures for details.

I am looking for 70 for the unit and will need to be collected from Hemel Hempstead (short distance from London) due to the size and weight.

As this is a bespoke, old and unique item, I thought I would offer it to the members of this forum.

The exact same model can be found on radio museum:

http://www.radiomuseum.org/r/krechlo...o_wk37a.html#a

Thanks!

Do you mean that the BSR UA25 needs a centre stacking spindle? You say "Pin".

Hi Edward,

Apologies for not being clear.

The turntable spins which is great, however it is the turntable needle head assembly which needs to be looked at.

I have attached three pictures to help explain.

I hope it helps!

In picture 2, the black item is a cartridge. It looks like a magnetic one, can you provide a picture from the front to help identification. One wire appears to have broken off and will need resoldering.
The three "needles" are stylii, but they are from a BSR ceramic cartridge, not yours.

I'm confused! The pictures show what appears to be a magnetic cartridge mounted on a slide-in cartridge carrier, which does not come from a BSR UA25 deck. I doubt very much that this radiogram would have been fitted with a magnetic cartridge, so where has this cartridge come from? The three styli are from a BSR cartridge which would have been fitted to the deck originally.

From the photo of the UA25 can I see the original BSR cartridge still in there, I think I can just see a screw? If so the styli are likely to be for that.
That black magentic cartridge has nothing to do with this Radiogram at all.

Hi all,

Apologies for the confusion - I am not an expert sadly

I have taken some more photos of the black cartridge which I hope will help. Having inspected further, the black cartridge doesn't seem to fit properly into the arm (looks like there is a clip) and hence might not be compatible as people suspected. I have taken a photo of the underside of the arm.

I can also confirm that the white wire on the black cartridge will need to be resoldered.

I hope this helps

The turnover styluses in the last picture have nothing to do with the black cartridge, which appears to be mounted on a Garrard cartridge carrier which was used in some SP25 models amongst other things.

Picture 2 in post 8 shows the clip for a BSR SC12M cartridge, which you can still get from Maplins I believe. They're not cheap! The wires hanging down will just plug onto the cartridge pins, but be careful, they're fragile. The cartridge will come with a stylus.

The latest photos show a Fidelity badged low-price magnetic cartridge. This has nothing to do wth the Golm Stereogram and the OP should not get confused by it.

Gentlemen.

The confusion over the missing pin has been cleared up.

The OP wants to sell the player. I doubt he'll be too concerned about what cartridge is fitted. Buyers can see exactly what they are and are not getting.

I don't think further discussion about cartridges is needed.

Thanks everyone for clearing this up - I appreciate the help.

As Graham mentioned, the radiogram is still available, so if anyone is interested/knows someone who would be interested then please do get in contact.

Have a good weekend all

Hi all,

Does anyone want the radiogram? Would be great if we found it a new home!

Thanks

Please do not take any offence, but I think you may find a more ready market for this on the auction sites where a buyer might go for this as display piece/retro statement/cocktail cabinet, rather than as a fully functional Radiogram. The Fidelity cartridge/headshell could also be sold seperatly as it has nothing to do with the Radiogram.

With the greatest of respect, I think that taking into account the cost of the correct cartridge will be in the region of 40 to 50, your asking price of 70 may need to be reviewed.

As Edward says, this forum probably isn't the best place to find a buyer. Most members here are interested in the electronic engineering side of things. This radiogram (which is a handsome thing) is more likely to appeal to 'lifestyle' buyers who want a statement retro piece to form the centrepiece of a room. In Hemel you are within easy driving distance of moneyed London hipsters who may be happy to pay hundreds for it and will still think they've got a bargain.

Quite true. I would try eBay if you want the best price.

I second that, just look at the prices of Radiograms on Ebay, best place to sell it for sure.
