Simple TRF Set
My digging about in the attic has turned up this little TRF set that I built over 40 years ago. It has a 9D6 RF stage and an ECC82 double-triode serving as leaky grid detector and output stage. The coils are Denco maxi-Q miniature plug- ins, mounted in the cans they were supplied in. The design came from the 3rd edition of the RSGB Amateur Radio Handbook.
The main tuning capacitor and the reaction capacitor are mounted on a sub-panel to allow slow motion drives to be fitted. The capacitor for the separately-tuned RF stage is below the chassis. Unfortunately the power supply is missing, and I remember lending it to someone with whom I have completely lost touch; I can’t even remember his surname. Also, I seem to have had a go at the audio stages at some time, adding an extra valve; I can’t remember why. At the moment it’s sitting on the bookshelf while I decide what to do with it. I’m supposed to be having a clear out.J Roger |

Re: Simple TRF Set
Ah-Ha! I recognise that! It's the 1-V-1 design from the RSGB handbook, 3rd. edition, p.108; original design by G8TL. The PSU requirement is stated as 6v. @ 1 amp.; 250v @ 30 mA.
