Coincidentally, I've recently been asked to look at repairing the control panel on a very derelict battery electric mine loco. It came from a slate mine in Cumbria, built about forty years ago. Some water ingress in the box and a few big diodes and thyristors. System voltage is 72v from the now missing batteries, two big traction motors each driving one axle, a lot of amps on the move (eventually) here.
