Default Anybody recognise these bulkhead connectors?

Hi
Does anybody know what these bulkhead connectors are called? They are on an early 60s Heathkit usc-1 preamp. I need to make up some cables to mate to the matching power amps and am not sure what male connector I will need?
Thanks
Mike

Are they 1/4" jack ? A view of the connector itself (i.e. from inside the cabinet, if you have it) would tell us more.

Cheers,

There's an earlier similar thread that may be worth reading as well - the wiring may be 'unusual'.... Sorry, can't help on the actual connectors, or a manual.

They look like cheapish all-plastic quarter-inch jack sockets. Better grade ones usually have a metal barrel.

They come in mono (one signal plus ground) and stereo (two signals plus a common ground) forms most usually

There may be various sorts of switches activated by inserting a jack plug.

Less commonly there are ones with more signal poles and sometimes with funnily shaped tips, so not all plugs will plug into all sockets these were used for plug-in extension phones in the days of the dear old GPO.

THere is also a slightly smaller diameter family which is hard to find... they are the standard connector for aviation headset microphones. Without a ruler for scale, they're easily confused.

They look like the ones on the Heathkit GDOs. In which case they are probably mono or stereo 1/4" jacks. They're quite nice sockets.

Check what sized twist drill shank is a close fit in the socket.

Blimey that was quick....thanks all. I’m aware of the potential safety hazard of the negative return through these sockets. Quickly googling (which I should have checked before) I can see someone has removed the original metal “tv Aerial” type metal sockets from this preamp. I’ll do some further research but may put the original style back as that’s what’s on the power amp(s) ends. I would snap a pic of the internals but don’t have it open at the mo....about 10 screws to undo!
Thanks
Mike
