Default Avo multiminor mk5

I recently acquired an AVO multiminor, however while all ranges work ok, the movement is non linear, ie 12v reads 10v on 25v range, but at fsd its bang on, all ranges read low until about 3/4 scale when the error disappears, there does not seem to be any visible mechanical damage, any body have any suggestions?

A similar problem in an earlier thread was caused by magnetic particles in the coil gap (probably from PMM or Phil G4SPZ?)
