Default Mullard MAS281/15.

Hi, i am restoring a rough Mullard Mas281/15 radio. The cabinet is in a bit of a state and i am unsure about the colour. The sides of the cabinet look to have been painted black, is this normal? If any member has one of these sets in their collection, a couple of pics of the cabinet would be a great help, Malc.

Hi Malc

It looks like black ends are normal. I found these pictures on flickr.

I think there is a Philips that uses the same chassis. Edward

I have an MAS281 that's not been refinished so can confirm the ends are just black painted - I think the Philips 170A was the same chassis.
