Default Bazooka dipole.

Looking to do some re-work of my antennas just as soon as the weather improves, I wonder if anyone has tried the 'Bazooka" dipole?

It looks interesting, I'd be intending to try it on 5MHz.

It reminds me of a coaxial collinear monopole I tried unsuccessfully to build for 2m years ago. The design was attributed to Alan Blumlein.

I'm glad I'm not the only one.

Those co-linears made from coax with the inner and outer swap overs never worked at all for me. Absolutely hopeless. It was for VHF/UHF I admit.

I could never reconcile that inside a quarter/half wave or whatever is 66% short due to the velocity factor yet somehow on the outside that did not matter.
Er?
